Preventative Health Care for Your Cat

Care for Kittens:

To ensure that your kitten receives complete preventative care to protect against disease, we recommend a series of visits.  During these visits, your kitten will receive all vaccinations needed to maintain good health.  In addition, a veterinarian will thoroughly examine your kitten to identify any potential problems.

Because your kitten's health and well-being will depend on more than just vaccinations, we will sit down and talk with you about caring for your kitten, behavior issues, and answer any questions that you might have.

Kitten series visits consist of:

  •   Comprehensive physical exam
  •   Intestinal parasite (worm) testing and treatment
  •   Testing for Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunosuppressive Virus
  •   Vaccination program individually tailored for your kitten
  •   Pet owner counseling regarding pet care, housebreaking, behavior problems and socialization

Maintaining the Health of Your Adult Cat:

In order to maintain your cat's health, we recommend the following annual preventative health care:

  •   Semi-annual Comprehensive Physical Exam to detect signs of disease, illness, or aging concerns
  •   Intestinal parasite (worm) testing
  •   Parasite prevention by using Revolution on a monthly basis.
  •   Vaccinations based on your cat's needs
  •   Semiannual blood tests for all cats over 7 years of age to look for early signs of metabolic diseases such as Diabetes, Kidney Disease, and Hyperthyroidism. Diseases such as these when found early are much more responsive to treatment
  •   Regular dental assessment, treatment and prevention
