We Take Purr-fect Care of Cats in Bayville NJ

Two of our happy feline patients

It's hard to imagine anything cuter than a new kitten, all soft and curious about their new world. And, it's only natural that you want the very best for your new cat, whether she's just a few weeks old or she's an older cat you were kind enough to adopt and bring into your family.

The veterinarians at Berkeley Veterinary Center are especially fond of cats and love to help families look after the health and well-being of their feline family members.

Bringing Your New Kitten for a Checkup

We know that kittens can be nervous about visiting the vet, and we do all that we can to make your kitten feel comfortable and safe whenever you visit us. Your first visit will consist of:

  • Full physical exam
  • Set up of a vaccination schedule
  • Discuss parasite prevention
  • Questions and answers about nutrition, training, and behavior issues
Money can't buy happiness but it can buy cats which is pretty much the same thing.

Microchipping

We strongly recommend that new pet owners microchip their pets. Microchip identification is an easy and painless way to protect you and your pet. Microchips provide an extra level of protection so that if your pet gets lost, you have a very good chance you will get him or her back.

Adult Cats Need Semi-Annual Wellness Examinations

Throughout your cat's life, it is recommended that he or she stay current on all vaccinations, as well as have a semi-annual checkup to make sure he or she is healthy. Ongoing periodic vaccinations for adult cats include feline distemper (FVRCP) and rabies. For cats at high risk for infection, we also recommend vaccinating against feline leukemia (FeLV). An examination every six months will help detect problems early and maximize the opportunity for preventive health care.
